Set in 2020 ‘The Unfriend’ by Steven Moffat, is a hilarious and satirical look at middle-class England’s disastrous instinct to always appear nice, to be polite.

Peter and Debbie are enjoying a cruise – a celebration of 20 years of marriage, and a welcome break from their teenagers! They befriend Elsa Jean Krakowski a fun, loud American widow and even though there is something slightly unsettling about

her, they agree to stay in touch – because no one ever really does, do they?

When Elsa invites herself to stay a few months later Debbie looks her up online and finds disturbing information. Just who have they invited into their home and can they put her off? But Elsa arrives unexpectedly early - how do you protect your family

without seeming, well, a bit impolite?
